There are hundreds of event ticketing systems available. If you look closely though, you will see that most of them are designed for infrequent events such as an annual conference or a family reunion. Examples are Eventbrite, Yapsody or Townscript. They are great for one-time or infrequent events.
If you are a performing arts or a musical theater organization, however, you are probably putting on many events per month. And those events can share much of the set up information – like the venue address, price of the tickets, seating plan, special promotions,etc. You would not want to have to re-enter all that information every time for each event. If you have, say 32 showings of Little Mermaid, the last thing you want to do is enter the venue address 32 times.
So, performing arts and musical theatre ticketing needs to have a functionality whereby all the shared information is set up once, and the only thing you need to do is specify the date and time of the event, or any other unique aspects. Examples of systems that include frequent event ticketing software are TicketPeak, Vendini and Patron Manager. Of course, we think ours (TicketPeak) is the most tailored ticketing system for musical theater and performing arts organizations and offers the best price, but we encourage you to check out others to make the best decision.
Just don’t pick a system that is designed for infrequent events, where you will have to re-enter all the information for each event!
