As usual, this varied selection of ticketing software companies offers a wide range of services and features at a multitude of price-points. According to Capterra reviews, these ticketing systems all work well for performing arts organizations; however, there are a few key features missing from some of these systems.

  • Online Event Ticketing does not offer onsite support. This isn’t ideal, as most performing arts organizations still operate with an onsite box office.
  • Ticketbud, Gatemaster, and Evenium.net can’t offer reserved seating.
  • Gatemaster, SRO4, HandyTix, Ludus, and Online Event Ticketing do not offer fundraising management.
  • Online Event Ticketing does not allow you to manage your customers through a customer database.
  • Perhaps most shocking of all, more than half of these organizations do not offer season ticket capabilities: Ticketbud, Gatemaster, SRO4, Evenium.net, HandyTix, and Ludus do not offer this feature.

I was rather shocked to see that 6 out of 10 of these ticketing systems do not offer season tickets. This feature is extremely important for performing arts organizations that produce more than one event per year, as it’s a way of increasing overall sales and honoring repeat attendees. Though, at the end of the day, it really is all about figuring out what your organization needs, understanding what’s out there, and (finally) selecting a ticketing system that works for you and your patrons!

Of course, we think that you should also consider our own ticketing system, TicketPeak. Call us biased, but we truly believe that our system holds its own against our competitors and offers feature-rich cloud-based software at a very reasonable and cost-effective price-point.
